Volunteer
Do you have some time to spare? Want to make new friends?
Connect with a wonderful group of residents and staff at Eaton Terrace by volunteering.
Current Volunteer Opportunities:
  • Games - ½ hour to 1 hour per week
  • Cards     Penny-ante Game
    Kismet     Wii Games
    Board Games     Quizzes
  • Coffee & Conversation
  • Bring something to talk about, such as an antique, a photo or any object that will help strike up a group conversation. Show pictures and ask what the residents think is happening.
Our goal here is to just have a good time and great conversation, to listen to and tell stories that help us remember old times.
  • Current Events - ½ hour to 1 hour per week
  • Bring in interesting newspaper or magazine articles for a rewarding discussion with our residents.
  • Read Mail for Low-Vision Residents - ½ hour to 1 hour per week
  • Residents will bring their mail to the library for a volunteer to read to them.
  • Play an instrument or sing - ½ hour to 1 hour per week
  • This opportunity is for one, two or even more volunteers. Our goal is for our residents to have a great time, sing songs or just listen to the music.
  • Exercise Class - ½ hour Mon. Wed. and Friday
  • These exercises should be geared toward frail seniors. Use our exercise plan or teach something new - possibly incorporating music into your session with the residents. You can spend rewarding time with our residents while also improving your own health.
  • Walking Group
  • Everyone loves the great outdoors! Improve your health while helping others to improve theirs. We have residents that would love to take short walks outside and need an escort.
  • Letter-writing with Residents - ½ to 1hr per visit
  • Help our residents write letters to friends and family. Enjoy getting to know the resident and lend a helping hand.
  • Mind Joggers - ½ to 1 hr per session
  • Help keep minds stimulated and active with Anagrams, Word Puzzles, Trivia and more.
  • Small Crafts Class - 1 time per month
  • Help residents discover the rewards of a new hobby or rediscover a pleasurable hobby from their past.
  • Office work
  • Some of our staff could use help with filing, etc. If this is something you are interested in, please let us know.
